Fine and sunny, with some wind
After a long week of preparation for this trip, for both the stay behind house and the one on wheels, we are finally on the road, albeit a day later than expected. After a coffee in the van, we were on the road just after 10:30 am heading south west.
We didn’t stop until we got to Wondai, just after 1 pm, where we made a beeline for the free camp alongside the rail trail, and set up camp for the night. After a light lunch Greg unloaded the bikes as we rode to Murgon and back, 26 km, which sharpened the appetite nicely. The free camp is a lot busier, as are the roads, than previous years.
Although we have not travelled far, we had a great first day on the road.
