Spent the morning washing, cleaning and shopping, Greg went fior a few rides in between.
We did another cruise today - Lake Kununurra Sunset Dinner Cruise, and wow, 10/10 for this one. We were picked up at the van park in a big bus, along with other cruisers, and boarded the MV Jabiru about 3:20 pm. After another safety brief, we were on our way. The price of the cruise included dinner (steak and fish, salads and bread roll) and a complimentary drink. The vessel is also licensed, so you could purchase further drinks. To purchase your drinks however, you had to pay your money to the boat driver (Brett) who gave you a corresponding ticket - $2 for softies and juice; $5 for glass of wine, Great Nothern, $8.50 for Corona, Gordons G&T, and UDL vodka lime and lemon, and then present your ticket to Jade at the bar who handed out the drinks. A very efficient method of watering the masses. Jade told us that all the cruises were booked out every day and they have extended the season by a month either way. Great to see these lovely, hard-working people doing well.
After we arrived at our private bay, we were served dinner. We had the worst spot on the boat (at the rear/stern) for the trip out to the bay, however, it turned out to be the pick of the spots for dinner with an unfetted view of the sunset. Of course, we had a lot of people invading our space at this time to take their sunset pics, but it was a chance to have a chat to just about everyone on the boat. As soon as dinner was served there was a race to be in the queue.
If anyone reading this is ever in Kununurra, we highly recommend this cruise.
Pictures to follow when the internet is better, Kununurra, despite having good cruises, has very poor internet. The Network was probably built to provide for the locals, not considering the 1,000s of Grey Nomads staying here now. There are six caravan parks in Kununurra, everyone of them fully booked out.
