After short walks we hit the highway at 8:15 am. What a pleasure it was to drive on a proper road again and not have to stop in the gravel everytime a truck come the other way. First stop was at Larrimah for a brew in the van and a sausage roll (literally a sausage in a roll of pastry, probably home made) from the Larrimah Pink Panther Pub. After mornos we had a wander around an interesting little museum dedicated to times of old, especially the role Larrimah played in WWII.
Onwards to Mataranka, which didn't take long on the lovely highway. Because Wendy has to complete some online work before the end of the month, we decided to stay in town of Mataranka at the Territory Manor Motel and Caravan Park. It has the best Telstra internet reception compared to the parks at the springs themselves, which are only a few km on the bike anyway. (Optus is only 3G here and much slower speed). The park is fairly compact, but still has a great staggered layout so you don't feel crowded. It also has a bar and restaurant with a very talented band playing tonight. Tomorrow being Thursday, we will partake of the hospitality, although we can hear every song from where we are ATM. Daly Waters also had a band who were equally as good as these guys and gals, however, it all depends on your taste in music.
We were set up just before lunch after which Greg rode to Bitter Springs and around town, Wendy had an LLD and then got down to earning some $$ to keep us both in fuel and bicycle tubes.
We had leftover Thai red curry chicken whilst listening to the band; very pleasant end to a lovely day.
