12-21 degC, sunny and extremely windy (up to 60 km/h for most of the day)
Another day in the sticks. We haven’t seen any other vehicles or people in our campsite area and are not likely to see them either; it has been so lovely and peaceful. We are not sure we will be able to cope with civilisation again. There are just the six of us.
Greg went out with the detector again, and returned empty handed. He reckons gold detecting is a bit like playing like golf – it can spoil a good bush walk. However, three of the mob did find some nice nuggets, so all was not lost.
Wendy made muffins again for mornos – sugar-free choc chip this time and they were just as delicious.
The wind was relentless for most of the day and was particularly nasty especially in the afternoon. Greg braved the wind and went out with the detector again. This time he was rewarded with a tiny nugget. It was still blustery as we prepared and ate dinner.
We all enjoyed a pre-dinner drink whilst the sky changed colours a
number of times during the sunset. A wonderful finish to another great day in the
Outback Australia.
