Day 111: Mon 9 Aug - Alice Springs

3 (0) - 24 deg C, fine, sunny and a lot warmer - perfect

Wendy was up early with Greg this morning to get the washing done and dried.  Five loads later it was all on the line drying in the wonderful sunshine.  Wendy could then 'go to work'.  Greg went for a ride out to the Central Australian Transport Heritage Precinct to visit the Old Ghan Museum, Heritage Railway and the National Road Transport Hall of Fame.  He spent a good couple of hours and was suitably impressed.  The best part was the Kenworth Hall of Fame, by far.  All the trucks were immaculate and beautifully presented.

After lunch and an early afternoon cuppa, we drove into town for Wendy to do a bit more shopping. Liquor shops are only open from 2pm in the Alice.   Greg also did some souvenir shopping.

We've really enjoyed taking our time here in the Alice.  There's more here than meets the eye.  After seven nights we think we've had a pretty good look around this interesting town.  However we'll be back when our focus is not on getting back into QLD before that border slams shut too.  There's so much more to see within a 250 km radius and we want to see it all eventually.

No place for bicycles - hanging in a tree

A real hoarder here, a house on Greg's walk this morning
