We were up at the crack of dawn this morning to have a quick brew before setting off for Lake Argyle. We did the morning cruise which started at 8 am. We were asked to be there at least 10 mins before departure, so we beat that by 40 mins! Didn't want to leave anything to chance. Whilst waiting for the cruise we walked up to the water tower and lookout area and the view was quite speccy.
We were bused down to the jetty area and boarded the boat a little after 8:15 am and were given the obligatory safety briefing about how to don your life jacket, where the exits were (see boat), etc. Also where the toot was and tea, coffee and biscuits were. And then we were off. First stop was for a bit of rock wallaby spotting, saw two, a male and a female (really hard to see as they are the colour of the rocks!). We were then shown the dam wall from the water side, then did some croc spotting, fish feeding, and finished with a short lesson about the area and how the dam came about. After two hours on the water, we were back on dry land and heading back to Kununurra for some lunch. If you're interested in the stats for the lake, here is a link: Lake Argyle
We were trying to compare the stats we got during the lesson to those of Kariba in Zimbabwe, and although Lake Argyle is huge, at full capacity it is just over only a third of the size of Kariba; here is a link: Lake Kariba
We are quite glad we did not try and make it into the van park at the lake. When we arrived around 7 am, there were already five vans queueing. By the time the bus went down to pick up cruise passengers, the queue was down the road and doubled up! By the time we left about 11 am, there were still vans waiting for a spot and yet more on the road coming in.
Not long after lunch Greg suffered bike separation anxiety and had to go for a ride. He ended up on his favourite path around the Lake/Lagoon.
Dinner tonight was at Kelly's Bar and Grill; a little more up-market than our normal pub meal. The service was efficient, and prices not too bad considering where we are. Wendy's steak was listed at 250g, but was more like 400g. Very nice night all-round.

a tiny wall considering it holds back up to 40 times Sydney Harbour.
No prizes for guessing what this is!

Copying the concept from one of our fellow travellers - Wikicamps map - red is what we have done, green is what we are yet to accomplish - says we have done 7 007 km of the 18 043 km planned and visited 34 places of the 73 planned. Not sure if our vehicle odometer is out, or Wikicamps has gone a different way, but our records show we have travelled a little more than 6 500 km in total, inculding side trips
