After breakfast we rode out to Cable Beach, just to have a look. It was too windy to do anything except have sand blown in your face, so we moved on into town (we will do a sunset visit before we leave). First visit was to McDonalds for mornos. Then it was off to the Broome Historical Museum which showed the early days of pearling, WWII in Broome, a sailmakers exhibition, and another building with dinosaur footprints, the McDaniel shell collection (which is pretty speccy), and some other stuff.
After the museum we rode along the pearl jewellery shop street. Pearls are not an item of jewellery that Wendy is over the moon about so we didn't stop for too long at all. Through China Town, or what was China Town in the old days, including Sun Pictures, the world's oldest outdoor cinema still in operation; depending on what we are doing, we may just have to watch a movie tomorrow night.
It was then home for lunch and an LLD, before doing a bit of personal admin, then hitting the Thursday Night Markets at Town Beach. We thought we might get a decent feed at the markets, however, memories of the Mindil Beach Markets in Darwin came rushing back, and we decided to head back into the China Town district where we had seen a Thai restaurant. They were fully booked inside, so we opted for outdoor dining, and the meals were as good as what we remember decent Thai restaurants to be. So much so, we made a booking for Sat night.
Back to the van for the nightly routine.
