We were both up about 6:30 am, Greg to go for his walk and Wendy to start the washing. It's best to get in early if you want to get a machine. We needed to do the winter sheets and they are a bit bulky to fit into the machine in the van. Whilst the sheets were washing in the park's machine, the van machine was also hard at work. Wendy did go for a short walk between washes. The van also got a clean, wiped and dusted the van walls, cupboard doors, other surfaces, and then swept the floors. There was enough red dust to top dress the lawn in the park! Yesterday we decided we should be eating more soups in the cool weather. So in between washes Wendy made a ham hock soup with lots of different vegies and French-style lentils. After simmering for about four hours, it tasted delicious but it will be even more tasty when we have it tomorrow night.
Following mornos together, Greg hit the cycle paths. After being out in the Goldfields for six days, his legs were itching to get back on the bike. Both Boulder and Kalgoorlie are quite historical places with plenty of interesting old architecture. Because most of the main buildings were constructed in the late 1800s early 1900s during the gold boom, many of the buildings are much grander than normal. Sadly a lot of them now stand vacant and/or up for sale. With an acute housing shortage in a lot of cities around the country, it's a shame that people can't be moved here and housed in lovely places like this. Why anyone would want to live crammed into our big overcrowded cities beats us.
Afternoon exercises/stretches and then dinner whilst watching the Olympics.
We are now back on roads that we have done before.
