A bit chillier this morning than the last week or so, but we still got out in it and walked. After breakfast, we visited the Information Centre and bought a combo ticket to the Min Min Encounter and the Boulia Heritage Complex. First up was the Min Min show which is a unique theatrical experience incorporating animatronics, fibre optics, and loads of other high-tech wizardy. It is a tribute to the long honoured art of the bush yarn, all based around the famed Min Min light phenomenon. It was very well done from a technical and script perspective, and some of the characters looked a bit spooky when they 'came to life' and started talking.
We then went over the road to the Coffee Shop for some sustenance before tackling the Heritage complex. There were two interesting displays here - The Stone House and the fossil house which is home to 100 million year old fossils of marine reptiles which were abundant in this area when it was an inland sea. One of the collections is an 80% complete Pleisiosaur fossil, which is among the world's best discoveries.
After all that excitement we had to come home for lunch and a rest. Greg then went for a ride to "Nowhere and back" whilst Wendy did some computer stuff.
Did we mention the flies? They are relentless in their quest to get into your eyes, nose, mouth and onto any bit of exposed skin, even after you lather yourself in repellant. They were bad in Winton, but they are much more badder here (Greg's most betserest English). The weather is so conducive to sitting outside, however the flies are determined to make you sit behind screens.
Went to the Australian Hotel in town, about 700m from the van park and both meals were big and delicious. Thankfully we had the walk home to settle the tummies. There were not many patrons at the pub when we got there at 6pm, however, on our departure an hour later, both the pub and dining room were quite busy.

Wow - am enjoying all the photos. The sunsets are magnificent!! I wonder if these are actual photos of all the roads - or did you just take 1 photo of a road at the beginning, and insert that each day!! Joke!!
