Day 83: Mon 12 Jul - Meekatharra

12-18 degC, annoying drizzly rain all day with a lazy wind

Today was our first mostly full day of rain. It only really started to rain in earnest after breakfast, so we were both able to get our morning walks in. Due to the rather inclement weather, Wendy decided to logon and do a couple of hours work, whilst Greg went for a wander around the thriving Meeka.  He had a look at the Info Centre and picked up some info for the days ahead.  Wanted to see the Aboriginal Art Gallery but the doors were firmly locked with no sign that indicated when/if it would open.  He returned with a muffin for Wendy and a jelly slice (which was very sweet) for himself for mornos.

Wendy continued working through mornos, and Greg went in search of an electric blanket and a gift to send to his sister for her birthday. He achieved the birthday present shopping, however, instead of buying the electric blanket, he bought a timer for the portable fan heater we bought with us. Hopefully, it will do the job of warming the van before we get up; when we have 240v power.

The afternoon was spent planning the next two weeks +- of our trip through the Goldfields to meet up with our neighbour, and then onwards to Kalgoorlie to have the truck serviced. It was then time for photo booking, exercises/stretches and blogging before heating up last night's leftovers for dinner. BOM says the rain will go away overnight, but the next few days will remain cloudy and windy - yay! At least the mornings are not so fresh when there is a bit of cloud cover.

Beaaaaauuuuutiful

Where we had dinner last night; there was a fire in the hotel recently that destroyed one third of it (left of picture), so it may have been more majestic looking
