10-19 degC, overcast and drizzly to start, cloudy with patches of sun, to sunny with patches of clouds, all accompanied by that same lazy wind
We have been on the road now for 12 weeks and have loved every minute of it.
We were on the road again just before 9 am. The destination today, Cue was only 'just down the road'. There were signs for gold mines at numerous places along most of the 117 km today, we are now well into the Goldfields. We stopped for mornos a bit before 10 am and arrived at the Cue Tourist Park just before 11 am, after refuelling. There is not much grass around here hence it was a tad muddy when we first arrived, however, by the afternoon it was mostly dry due to the wind. Before having lunch we went for a walk as it looked like the rain had finished. Coming back from the walk it started to drizzle which didn't matter as it seemed to dry before it hit us. The wind was still cold though, even at midday.
After the lunch routine, the sun had come out so we went out for another walk around Cue. Managed to clock up 10.6 km today on our walks around Meeka and Cue.
Cue was once a thriving gold town, however it is now a quaint little town with nothing much open. It has however kept its heritage trail well signed and maintained. There are some renovations being conducted on a couple of lovely old stone buildings, the old gaol and old railway station. They are obviously being upgraded into more modern and therefore useable ones. The old railway station will become a clubhouse/changeroom as it is adjacent the oval/sports ground but we're not sure what the goal will be used for. It would make a great reception building for the Caravan Park as it is right at the entrance.
